2025 marks the 100th year of Iowa State University’s beloved Parks Library.
The University Library has been the heart of Iowa State since it first welcomed students in 1869, and students have been the pulse of Parks Library from its opening day on January 6, 1925. Today the University Library consists of Parks Library and the Veterinary Medical Library in Patterson Hall.
Iowa Staters in every generation have adapted library facilities and services to meet emerging needs and advance with technology creating a research and learning powerhouse in Parks Library. “Aha! moments” happen here!
In celebration of 100 years of discovery, exploration, and collaboration, Parks Library will host several events throughout the year.
Make plans to stop by Parks Library 100th Birthday Bash featuring daily birthday treats the first week of spring semester January 21-24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while supplies last.
